"Jake - Has Bad Luck So You Don't Have To" (murdersofa)

The Murdersofa lives on in the Riviera! With the help of fellow Fast Not Loud writer Alex (Flieswiththunderbirds on Oppo) I removed the solid rear Cadillac STS sway bar from the Murdersofa and put it on the Riviera with these:
Mmmm, red. And shiny!
And on the car!
Old bar, new bar.
Also finished my brake rotor swap. I now have vented rotors all around and there is no trace of the warped-ass plebian shit that was on there.
I could use a new driver’s side air shock though.
K NOPE NEVERMIND I NEED BOTH HOLY SHIT.
Anyways, got the sway bar on and the brakes in place and tightened everything down. The Riviera is finally driving like the car I wanted it to. Turn-in is on par with many modern sports sedans, body roll is far less pronounced and nowhere near as wallowy, braking effectiveness is unaffected but fade should be reduced (not a daily driving issue but we’ll see how it handles an autocross), and the steering is a bit stiffer and centers stronger while moving. Was a good night, got finished just in time for a sunset cruise under a brilliant red Midwestern sky (picture not found, too busy driving).

Shocks (and other suspension pieces) and tires keep the car on the road. Do whatever you have to do.

Fortunately air shocks are just $40 a pair. Front shocks, however, are around $60 each. Not terrible, but going to be difficult to work into my budget.

It’s perfectly safe as it is, just not very comfortable with all four shocks doing nothing to dampen the boat-like undulations of this thing on the highway.

It’s ok. My transmission just killed itself so it won’t be on the road anyways.

No clue. It’s been acting up pretty bad the last couple days and the car dropped out of gear entirely a few yards from my house and required 10 minutes of dicking with the shifter to get it moving again. Fluid is clean as hell and filled perfectly. I am confus.

Sounds like a cable adjustment - I believe that car connects the shifter to the tranny with a cable. In any event, if you’re lucky, it’s just the linkage.
